Welcome back! I hope that you all had a wonderful and restful holiday. Report cards will go home next week.

Unfortunately, I am at home recovering from surgery. Please rest assured that Mr. Johnson, a trusted certified teacher, will be taking care of our class while I am out. We stay in close communication. If you have any questions for him, feel free to call the office or contact Mrs. Cummings. Thank you!

Mrs. Cummings and Mrs. Culver can be reached for conferences through email or the school’s office. Also, keep updated through our teacher website. Just go to our school page and click on the teacher webpage link on the side. Click on Mrs. Culver’s name. You will find this newsletter for both classes there.

F.Y.I.

We are following three basic expectations at OBIS this year. We will focus on being RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and SAFE! This means carrying out these expectations to each and everyone and in every area of the school, including our classrooms.

Students can use them for things like a stuffed animal pass, hat day, or extra P.E. We love to give them!

If you bring cupcakes for birthdays, they must be left in the office to be eaten in the classroom. This is because of allergies in our school.

Graded papers  and behavior sheets go home on Thursdays. Students receive a treat for bringing this back signed the next day.

Mrs. Culver’s lunch time is 11:25-11:50. Mrs. Cumming’s class lunch time is 11:00-11:25.

Both classes have snack, but please send a reasonable-sized snack and not the entire chip-aisle of Kroger!

Our library day is Monday for both classes, and our P.E. day is Thursday. Please wear tennis shoes on that day.

ELA homework is now due on Thursdays! This will be a comprehension sheet and to write vocabulary words in cursive.

Math homework will vary from day to day. Please check with your child to make sure that he/she is keeping up with this.

There is a $7.14 fee for Scholastic News Reading and a $7.15 fee for Science. This is due at the end of August.

Lunch prices have increased this year. The full price for breakfast will be $1.25 and .30 for reduced breakfast. The full price for lunch will be $2.75 and .40 for reduced lunch.
