Mrs. Laney Cabrera

5th Grade Language Arts & Social Studies

Mrs. Laney Cabrera

Welcome To My Online Classroom

My name is Laney Cabrera, and this is my second year teaching. I attended the University of Memphis from 2009 until 2012 and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Legal Thought. From 2013 until 2016, I attended University of Memphis School of Law and received my Juris Doctorate Degree. After passing the bar, I was a practicing attorney for two years before making a switch back to my "first love," teaching.

There are links below that may be helpful navigating any online resources students use at home or in the classroom. We also have an ELA Website that has a great number of resources that can be accessed online.

I firmly believe that an engaged parent helps the overall success of the child.

If you have any questions, concerns, or thoughts, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I can't wait to see what this year holds!!

Happy Learning!

Learning Links

  • In the event of a virtual day, students will be completing assignments from home. If your student opted to access assignments online, they will be loaded onto Schoology in the student's homeroom course titled "Virtual Learning Days 5th Grade." This folder contains work for all subjects (math, science, ELA, and social studies), and therefore, students do not have to access any other course. If your student requested a paper packet, they were given this Wednesday. As explained previously, packets are due upon students' return and will be utilized to confirm attendance. If you have any questions at any point, please don't hesitate to reach out. -Mrs. Cabrera.
  • As an additional resource, it is highly recommended that students access iReady through their clever portal for additional work/assistance.
  • iReady Login: Go to Username and password is student's lunch number. Once on the home page for clever, students can access iReady.
